The summer Behavior Institute is back this June with an exciting, cutting-edge program! The Institute will be held in downtown Louisville at the Galt House Hotel on June 12-13, 2017! (On-Line registration is available: http://kycec.org/KYCCBD/behavior-institute-registration.html ; Click here to register now!). This year’s Institute theme is Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS): From Tears to Tiers and Resilience! Our focus is tiered supports for students with behavior challenges or trauma exposure, and will feature expert national speakers with strategies and information across all three levels of intervention, for academic, behavior and social-emotional / mental health barriers to learning. We are now accepting school and district Purchase Orders (P.Os), to enable districts to access July 1 $$.
Our Keynote speaker is Linnie Vessels, a passionate high school teacher and author of the book “To Soften the Blow”, who was herself a child victim of trauma attending school in Louisville, whose KY principal played a key part in turning her behavior problems and life around. She has 30 years of classroom experience and uses her own journey to provide insight for teachers in addition to practical strategies for working with children and youth in Trauma.
Featured Speakers and successful schools, including 10 national experts and a host of Kentucky’s successful administrators, school leaders, teams and master teachers, will offer over 100 sessions focused on effective strategies and school-based implementation in the following areas: (see list of Major Strands attached with flyer).
The Behavior Institute offers evidence-based practices, high-quality sessions, opportunities for professional networking, and a chance for dedicated professionals to learn and get re-energized! We look forward to seeing you soon in Louisville!
